What a Drag

LOS ANGELES -- A judge is expected to rule soon on Dustin Hoffman's $5 million lawsuit claiming a magazine used a computer-altered image of him in a dress without his permission.

The actor, who played a man masquerading as a woman in the 1982 film "Tootsie,'' sued in 1997 over a Los Angeles Magazine layout that included a computerized composite of his face on the body of a man wearing a designer gown.

Hoffman testified during the four-day trial that the picture turned him into an unpaid fashion model.
