Sibneft to Pay Debt

MOSCOW -- Russia's seventh-largest oil producer, Sibneft, said Friday it would pay on time in February a $3.6 million coupon on foreign notes.

Sibneft is the next Russian corporation due to make a Eurobond-related interest payment after Russia's Uneximbank, which said Thursday that it could not pay $12 million of interest on a $250 million bond and asked to restructure all its debts. "There is absolutely no question that we won't pay our notes on time. We have an unblemished credit record," Sibneft's spokesman said.
