Polish Minister Leaves

MOSCOW -- Polish Foreign Minister Bronislaw Geremek left Moscow on Friday after his departure was delayed for more than 12 hours by bad weather, Interfax reported.

During his visit, Geremek met with Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, Russian Orthodox Patriarch Alexy II and Yegor Stroyev, the chairman of the upper chamber of parliament.

In an interview with the Kommersant newspaper, Geremek said he had raised the issues of Russia's property in Poland, compensation claims by Poles who were persecuted in the Stalin-era, and art the Red Army took out of Poland after the end of World War II.
