Large-Scale Problem

TALLINN, Estonia -- President Lennart Meri has intervened personally on behalf of a man unable to buy underwear to fit his 2-meter, 172-kilogram frame, the Baltic News Service said Thursday.

Alar Sink turned to Meri after the Tallinn-based firm Trixtal refused to fill his special order for 10 pairs of underwear, the news service quoted the paper Meie Maa as saying.

"I made up my mind and called the president's secretary, who connected me with the president. ... He personally called Trixtal's managers and requested [them] to take the order," Sink said.
