Surf the Tsunami

It was once an extension of Bubliki. Then it morphed into the gay-water-fetishist club Delphin, or Dolphin. Now the basement off Petrovka has been turned into the strip/lesbian club Tsunami, which features strip shows on weekends. Thursday night is Ladies' night with male striptease, and no men allowed in even after 9 p.m. On weekends, with women admitted free, it could be a cheap date alternative.

Tsunami. Cover: 50 rubles for men, free for women. 1/24 Rakhmanovsky Pereulok, 200-5566. Open 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Metro: Kuznetsky Most.

Back to Plasma

Rumors of the rave club Plasma's demise have been greatly exaggerated. More popular now than other techno-head spots like Titanic and Utopia f which have closed for remont (pressure from Luzhkov's drug squads) f ravers are crowding the club on weekends. Plasma is throwing a big Chemical Brothers-inspired bash this Saturday with DJ Groove and others. The club has anti-crisis drink specials, a fashion show and a new sound system. Tip: Tinted prescription glasses are the rage these days and will get you past their silly face control.

Plasma. Cover: 150 rubles. Face control. 53A Novocheryomushkinskaya Ulitsa, 128-7603. Open 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. Metro: Profsoyuznaya.
