Women Repeat Flight

MOSCOW -- Women pilots from Russia and the United States plan to repeat a legendary 1938 long-range flight by three pioneering Soviet women, the head of Russia's Women Pilots Association said on Wednesday.

Galina Korchuganova said two Americans and three Russians would begin the 8,000 kilometer flight on July 26 from Moscow's TushinoAirport.

In 1938, Soviet pilots Valentina Grizodubova, Polina Osipenko and Maria Raskova made a nonstop flight between Moscow and Komsomolsk-on-Amur in an Ant-37 aircraft. They set the world nonstop flight record.
