Textile Quotas Lifted

MOSCOW -- Russia and the European Union have dropped all quotas in bilateral textile trade from the beginning of this month, Russian Deputy Foreign Trade Minister Georgy Gabunia said.

In addition to removing textile quotas, both the sides "found a solution to the problem of dropping Russia from the list of countries with a nonmarket economy in antidumping procedures and certification of textile imports from the EU," Gabunia said late last week.

He said the agreement that was reached in Brussels in March crowned three years of difficult negotiations.
