Chernobyl Reactor Set

KIEV -- The sole remaining nuclear reactor at Chernobyl, scene of the world's greatest civilian nuclear disaster, will resume operating May 18 after several months of repairs, Ukrainian officials said Thursday.

Interfax quoted them as saying the resumption had been delayed from the previously scheduled May 5 because of a meeting of the European Bank for Reconstructon and Development in Kiev, starting Friday.

The EBRD has been in dispute with the Ukrainian government over financial assistance involving Chernobyl power station.
