CLUBBING NOTES

Goodbye Dolls

Naked men and naked women in combination with sundry objects and other similarly unclad humanoids entertain Moscow's community of voyeurs. With Dolls having revoked their free admission for U.S. passport holders, partyers are heading elsewhere. Amsterdam or Bangkok it is not, but if you're looking for something edgier than the Internet, head to Club Relax in the Hotel Sevastopol on Thursday and Friday nights. Having added a Thursday Ladies' Night, the club is more hopping than ever.

Club Relax. 1A Ulitsa Bolshaya Yushunskaya. Hotel Sevastopol. Metro: Kakhovskaya. Cover: Thursdays and Fridays -- 200 rubles. Saturdays -- 100 rubles. Hours: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Gay Grunge

It's right next to Moscow's beloved Central House of Writers. It's in a converted movie theater -- like most of the other city's cool clubs. It's both gay and lesbian, unlike Chance which discriminates against women. It's more happening than Dyke Nights at Three Monkeys. Sergei Penkin performs there occasionally. It doesn't shut out 15-year-olds like the Hungry Duck claims to. While it doesn't have a Ladies Night or Ptyuch-style Love Party yet, Imperia Kino is jam-packed on weekend nights with screens showing Japanese animation.

Club Imperia Kino. 13 Povarskaya Ulitsa. Metro: Barrikadnaya. Cover: 50 rubles. Hours: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
