Tajik Leader Returns

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan -- A Tajik opposition leader seen as having a key role in keeping the country's shaky peace deal on track returned to Dushanbe on Friday evening after spending five years in exile in Iran.

President Imomali Rakhmonov earlier this month promised Akbar Turadzhonzoda the position of first deputy prime minister under a power-sharing agreement aimed at bringing stability to the impoverished, war-weary former Soviet republic.
