Poles Suspend Blockade

WARSAW, Poland -- Some 200 traders suspended blockade of border crossing into Belarus early Tuesday pending a government discussion of new visa regulations that have nearly cut off their supply of goods and flow of customers.

The traders, who established a blockade on the northeastern crossing in Kuznica Bialostocka on Monday, met with the provincial governor, who said the government will be reviewing the new regulations that took effect Dec. 27.

Governor Krystyna Lukaszuk said Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek was considering meeting with the traders Friday.

The blockade was suspended until Saturday.
