Boss Held Hostage

MOSCOW -- Workers at a fish-processing factory in the Far East locked their boss in his office Tuesday and demanded that he resolve a long-running battle over back wages, Itar-Tass reported Tuesday.

The director of the factory in Nakhodka, on Russia's Pacific Coast, called the police. After a four-hour standoff, workers finally agreed to set the director free when he made a firm pledge to resolve the dispute over six months of unpaid wages, Itar-Tass reported.
