LUKoil Pays Coupon

MOSCOW -- Russian oil giant LUKoil said Tuesday that it had paid a 1 percent $3.5 million coupon on its $350 million convertible bond issue.

"LUKOil carried out the second payment of a coupon on convertible bonds, which were issued by an affiliate company LUKinter Finance BV," the company said in a statement.

The $350 million in bonds, which mature in 2003, were issued in October 1997. The bonds carried a one percent semiannual coupon. The first payment was made in May.

The company said payment of the coupon took place in line with the terms of the bond issue.
