MOSCOW -- Russia's State Cinematography Committee on Friday defended its decision not to ban the Bruce Willis film Armageddon, which a parliamentary deputy has called anti-Russian.
But the offended lawmaker said he was still not satisfied.
The film f a summer blockbuster in which the character played by Willis saves Earth from collision with a giant asteroid f features a dilapidated Russian space station that explodes because of a leaky pipe. The State Duma, parliament's lower house, voted Oct. 9 to demand an explanation from the cinematography committee after Alexei Mitrofanov, a deputy from the ultranationalist Liberal Democratic Party, said the film mocked Russian technology.
