Dutch Killed in Riga

RIGA, Latvia -- A Dutch citizen working for a Latvian-registered company was killed early Sunday when a bomb blew up in his car as he drove through Riga, police said.

A spokeswoman for the Riga police gave the name of the victim as J. Johanes de Vos, 36, who was working in Riga as manager of construction materials importer Opportunity Group International.

Ieva Zvidre of the Riga police department said, "The bomb was placed underneath the driver's seat and it exploded as he was driving into the center of town."

"The car swerved into the other lane and crashed into a tree and the driver was found dead on the spot," she added.
