More Ferry Victims

MONTROUIS, Haiti () -- Divers found more than 100 bodies inside a sunken Haitian ferry during a grim recovery mission that pulled victims from the murky water and laid the bodies out before mourners on a pebbled beach.

Diesel fumes mixed with the bodies' stench as mourners tried to identify the victims, who were placed inside transparent plastic bags.

As many as 250 people died in Monday's ferry disaster off this eastern fishing village. The estimate from divers disputed initial accounts that the 60-foot ferry was overcrowded with as many as 800 people.
