Iran, Turkey End Row

TEHRAN, Iran -- Iran and Turkey have agreed to send back ambassadors recalled after a diplomatic row in February, the official Islamic Republic News Agency said Tuesday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi and his Turkish counterpart, Ismail Cem, announced that the ambassadors will take up their respective posts soon, the agency said.

Meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the ministers said political and economic cooperation would also resume soon, IRNA reported. Relations between the two countries plummeted in February when the Iranian ambassador in Ankara attended a rally calling for an Islamic regime in secular Turkey.
