Hooligans Sentenced

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands -- Two soccer hooligans were convicted of homicide and sentenced to four years in prison Monday for taking part in a riot that killed a supporter of a rival team.

The fight, which occurred in March, was one of the worst incidents of soccer-related violence in Dutch history.

The two defendants, identified only as Marco P. and Leonardo P., were convicted by the Haarlem District Court of homicide in the fatal beating of Ajax fan Carlo Picornie.
