Hacker Guilty Plea

SAN FRANCISCO -- A computer hacker accused of collecting 100,000 credit card numbers off the Internet and then trying to sell them has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

Carlos Felipe Salgado, Jr., 36, was indicted in May for a scheme that involved gathering credit data from a dozen companies selling products over the Internet, and entered his plea last Monday. He could get up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
