Perk Too Deer

LONDON () -- Senior British ministers have lost their right to receive haunches of venison twice a year from royal deer parks under a warrant which dates back to 1100.

A spokeswoman at the Culture Department said Monday the government had decided the perks were "an inappropriate use of taxpayers' money."

The gifts, worth some ?450 ($720) a year, have been claimed by around 100 ministers, senior civil servants and members of the royal household.
