Kiev Deputy Premier

KIEV () -- President Leonid Kuchma has named Anatoly Holubchenko, an industrialist, first deputy prime minister of Ukraine, a spokesman for Kuchma's office said.

Holubchenko, 47, is a member of the pro-Kuchma Constitutional Center in parliament and was industry minister from 1992 to 1995.

The Fridayappointment was the latest to the former Soviet republic's new Cabinet after a reshuffle which began last month following the resignation of prime minister Pavlo Lazarenko.

A metallurgist by trade, Holubchenko was deputy head of a big steelwork factory and a member of the State Metals Committee.
