Clemens Gets 15th, 6th Straight for Maddux

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Roger Clemens pitched a five-hitter for his major league-leading 15th win and Carlos Delgado homered twice and drove in five runs as the Toronto Blue Jays routed the Texas Rangers 9-1.

Clemens (15-3), who beat Texas for the third time this season, walked three and struck out 10 to lower his ERA to 1.62, equalling Pedro Martinez of the Expos for the lowest in baseball. It was his fifth complete game of the year.

Delgado hit a solo homer in the first off starter John Burkett (7-8) and added a three-run shot in the seventh off Xavier Hernandez. Orlando Merced also homered for Toronto while Dean Palmer had a solo shot for Texas.

Braves 8, Rockies 2. Ryan Klesko homered twice and Greg Maddux got his sixth straight win, becoming the National League's first 13-game winner as the Atlanta Braves handed the Colorado Rockies their sixth consecutive loss Thursday, 8-2.

Klesko hit a solo shot off starter Bill Swift (4-3) in the bottom of the fourth and a two-run blast off Mike DeJean in a four-run seventh.

Maddux (13-3) allowed two runs and seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts. The four-time Cy Young Award-winner has not lost since June 13 and is 6-0 with a 2.93 ERA since then.
