Bridge Construction Jams Sparrow Hills

Street reconstruction in Moscow may create big problems for drivers in the daytime. For example, getting through Ulitsa Kosygina has become very difficult because of work in progress. Where Ulitsa Kosygina crosses over Komsomolsky Prospekt there is a small bridge, and due to current reconstruction there are only two lanes instead of the usual four. As a result, there is usually a traffic jam several hundred meters long if you're heading in the direction of Leninsky Prospekt from Mosfilmovskaya Ulitsa.

The best way to avoid this traffic jam is to turn to the right on Universitetskaya Ploshchad at the Sparrow Hills overlook (you should see the main building of Moscow State University on your right).

Drive straight on to the first traffic light and turn left.

You are now on Universitetsky Prospekt and you should drive straight ahead to the first intersection. This is Prospekt Vernadskogo.

You can turn left and drive back to Ulitsa Kosygina. In this case you should stay in the right lane and turn right onto the small road a hundred meters before the tunnel. If you miss the turn, you can only turn around once you cross the bridge on Komsomolsky Prospekt, so pay attention.

A better way to get Leninsky Prospekt is to cross Prospekt Vernadskogo and drive straight ahead to the intersection with Leninsky Prospekt.

From there you can turn either to the left, toward the center, or to the right, in the direction of Park Place.
