Poland Crash Kills 10

WARSAW, Poland -- Ten people died and 15 were seriously injured when several coaches decoupled from a passenger train, left the track and hit a stationary goods train near Szczecin in northwest Poland on Monday, police said.

"We have confirmed that there are 10 dead ... 15 badly injured and another 15 less badly hurt," Szczecin police deputy spokesman Krzysztof Rusinowicz said.

Police earlier said the wagons came uncoupled from the end of the fast train, traveling from the coastal town of Swinoujscie to Krakow in the south, at about 12:25 p.m. and struck the goods train on a nearby line.
