Letter's 87-Year Journey

COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- A letter posted in Copenhagen in 1909 finally arrived at its destination in April after spending 87 years in the Russian postal system, regional Nordjyllands-Radio reported Monday.

The letter was mailed by an 8-year-old girl in Agersted, western Denmark.

According to the radio, the letter was sent by mistake to tsarist Russia, and it was sent back without comment to the Danish postal authorities last month.

The letter bore no Russian postal markings, it said.
