Sibneft to Export Oil

MOSCOW ) -- Russian oil mini-major Sibneft said Monday it will handle its own oil exports beginning in April.

Company spokesman Fillip Murashov said vertically integrated Sibneft would set up a sales section, but did not say how it would market output to Western traders or refiners.

Sibneft, whose crude oil production unit is Noyabrskneftegaz, exported an average 86,800 barrels per day in 1996, mostly through KomiTEK Moscow in addition to channeling some through Rosnefteimpex, Balkar-Trading and Alfa-Eko.
