Jordan's Points, Plans Boost Bulls

SACRAMENTO, California -- Michael Jordan had 32 points, including 9 during a 13-4 Chicago run down the stretch, and Scottie Pippen added 22 as the Bulls won their fifth straight game, defeating the Sacramento Kings 111-93.

Toni Kukoc added 16 points, while Jason Caffey and Randy Brown had 11 apiece. The Bulls have won 14 of 15.

Mitch Richmond had 28 points and nine rebounds for the Kings, but was held to just five points in the final quarter. Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf added 19 for Sacramento.

Before the game Jordan said he hopes to win another NBA title and then "go right into next year."

"Nobody can put a time frame, or a time limit, on something you love. Right now I love the game,'' Jordan said. "I hope to fulfill all those expectations of winning a championship and go right into next year.''

Jordan said he believes he is playing at the top of his game and that he has been energized by support from fans, who earlier this week voted in record numbers to make him an NBA All-Star for the 11th time.

Nuggets 113, Rockets 109. Ricky Pierce scored 25 points and Denver spoiled Hakeem Olajuwon's second straight 40-plus point game as the Nuggets held off the Houston Rockets 113-109.

Olajuwon, who had 41 points Saturday against the Utah Jazz, got 48 points and 10 rebounds against the Nuggets.

While Pierce led Denver with 11-of-18 shooting, LaPhonso Ellis scored nine of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and Dale Ellis finished with 20 points, including back-to-back shots that put Denver ahead for good at 108-105 with 3:56 to play.

Timberwolves 92, Mavericks 82. In Dallas, reserve Sam Mitchell scored 21 points and Terry Porter had five points during a decisive run to open the fourth quarter as the Minnesota Timberwolves extended their winning streak against Dallas to six games with a 92-82 victory.

Chris Gatling returned from a one-game club suspension with a 29-point, 18-rebound game for the Mavericks.

Clippers 100, Grizzlies 94. In Los Angeles, Loy Vaught scored 20 of his 28 points in the second half and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to their third win in four games, 100-94 over Vancouver.
