Budapest Blast Kills 2

BUDAPEST, Hungary -- A grenade exploded in a toilet at a Chinese restaurant early Friday, killing the owner's wife and daughter, police said.

"The explosion of the presumably Yugoslav-made grenade occurred at 12:15 a.m. in the toilet of the restaurant," said police spokesman Endre Nagy. About 20,000 Chinese live in Hungary, down from about 50,000 five years ago.

There have been several murders of Chinese in recent years, and none of the cases has been solved. Hungary lifted visa requirements for China in 1989, and thousands of Chinese immigrated. Visas were reinstated in 1993.
