Albright Plans Visit In February

U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is expected to visit Moscow in the second half of February to prepare a scheduled meeting between U.S. President Bill Clinton and President Boris Yeltsin, officials said Friday.

Albright will hold talks with Russia's Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov on the "entire complex of bilateral issues, and primarily those connected with the preparation for the Russian-U.S. summit," said Igor Ivanov, Russian first deputy foreign minister.

Clinton said this week he expected the summit to be held in March as originally planned, although administration officials earlier have said the meeting might slip to April or later because of Yeltsin's slow recovery from double pneumonia. They also said the summit might be held outside the United States.
