Mir Gets Supplies

MOSCOW -- A Russian cargo craft successfully docked with the Mir space station Wednesday, officials at Russia's mission control said.

The craft docked using automatic mode slightly ahead of schedule, officials said.

Mission control, cited by Interfax, said the accuracy of the docking confirmed the reliability of Mir's new on-board computer, installed last week.

The computer was delivered by the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis. The cargo vessel that docked Wednesday was carrying a spare computer and other supplies, including oxygen, water and fuel.
