Indonesia Calls on IMF

JAKARTA, Indonesia-- Indonesia said Wednesday it would seek help from the International Monetary Fund and other institutions to bolster its foreign exchange reserves following recent currency upheaval.

Finance Minister Mar'ie Muhammad, who announced the decision after a cabinet meeting, did not say how much assistance would be sought.

Analysts reckoned any package would be nowhere near as big as Thailand's $17.2 billion bailout.
