British Inflation Up

LONDON -- Britain's annual inflation rate rose to 3.6 percent in September, compared with 3.5 percent in August, the government said Tuesday.

The Office of National Statistics, whose figures show an inflation rate rise for the fifth consecutive month, say it mainly is due to housing costs and food prices, with a small upward effect from charges for household services.
