Tests Good for Palmer

EDMONTON, Alberta () -- Brett Hull, back on the ice after being benched for a game for making critical comments aimed at his coach, scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period Sunday night, giving the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Brazilian, who turned 80 in May and who said only last month he had no intention of quitting as the top man in world soccer, said he had changed his mind, "after long and careful thought."

Jordan was held scoreless in the second half despite playing the entire fourth quarter.

Hull slipped behind the Edmonton defense, got a pass from Peter Zezel and beat goaltender Curtis Joseph at 10:04 of the third period for a 3-2 lead. Hull's 12th goal of the season was his 33rd goal in 33 games against the Oilers.
