Shares Gain Ground

PRAGUE () -- Shares on most Central and Eastern European bourses gained ground this week, although there were some indications that the upturn might be short-lived.

Exchanges in Prague, Warsaw, Budapest and Bucharest rose, while Zagreb, Bratislava and Sofia traded mixed. Ljubljana posted slight losses after a Friday rally. The Central European Share Index, which reflects the movements of 50 Czech, Polish and Hungarian shares, firmed 77.3 points.
