Pianist Vlasenko Dies

MOSCOW () -- Lev Vlasenko, a renowned Russian pianist and long-time professor at the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, has died in Australia at the age of 67, a colleague said Monday.

Tatyana Ivanova, an administrator at the Moscow Conservatory, said he died Friday. The cause of death was not known.

Vlasenko moved to Brisbane, Australia, to live with his daughter when he developed heart trouble in 1995, Ivanova said. Itar-Tass said Vlasenko will be buried next month at Moscow's Vagankovskoye Cemetery.
