Lithuania to Get Loan

MOSCOW () -- The World Bank will loan Lithuania $80 million for restructuring projects in banking, agriculture, energy and social programs, Interfax reported Friday.

Basil Kavalsky, director of the World Bank's department responsible for Eastern Europe, told the Baltic News Service the loan will be disbursed in two $40 million tranches, Interfax said.

The first disbursement is expected in September-October of this year.

This will be the second loan of its kind to Lithuania, Kavalsky said.

The World Bank has loaned Lithuania a total of about $150 million.
