Kazakhstan Gets Boats

ALMATY, Kazakhstan () -- The U.S. government has presented Kazakhstan with six patrol boats to prevent smuggling and drug trafficking on the Caspian Sea and improve export controls.

Five of the boats are 27-foot Boston Whaler Vigilants. The command boat is a 42-foot Sea Ark Dauntless.

The equipment, training of the boat crews and facilities included in the package will also help Kazakhstan reduce the risk of nuclear proliferation and carry out search and rescue operations, officials said.
