VLADIVOSTOK, Far East () -- A regional governor in Russia's Far East threatened Thursday to banish members of the Unification church and various other religious groups active in the region.

Tough-talking Yevgeny Nazdratenko, governor of the Primorsky Krai region that includes the major port city of Vladivostok, hit out in particular at activists of the Unification church founded by Sun Myung Moon.

"I want to warn activists of foreign religions that if religious psychoses happen again while I am leader of Primorsky Krai, I will employ the police force to throw them out," he said in a live television appearance.
