Debt Barter Agreed

SEOUL () -- South Korea said Friday it has agreed with Russia to accept deliveries of enriched uranium and helicopters as partial repayment of the former Soviet Union's debt.

Russia earlier planned to deliver $90 million worth of steel products in 1995 and 1996, but the delivery has been delayed, Seoul's Finance and Economy Ministry said in a statement.

The two sides agreed on a repayment of $75 million worth of uranium and $15 million worth of helicopters. As of July 10, Russia owed $450.7 million to South Korea.
