Boeings Purchased

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan -- Turkmenistan's state-owned national air carrier NUGAT has purchased two new Boeing 757 airliners from Boeing Co., an airline spokesman said Monday.

Sergei Kartsev, head of the airline's international department, said the jets would start flying NUGAT's six international routes at the end of September.

He gave no details of how much NUGAT paid for the planes.

NUGAT's Akhal subsidiary will fly the Boeings to Pakistan, India, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Britain and Sri Lanka. The airline already flies three Boeing 737 passenger aircraft.
