'Vesti' Bomb Threat

MOSCOW () -- A bomb threat made by unknown caller Wednesday disrupted the broadcast of Russian Television's news program, police said. The caller, who telephoned the "Vesti" program, said a bomb had been planted at the program's newsroom. Police combed the premises but found no trace of a bomb, a duty city police officer said.

The call was made at 3:45 p.m., forcing "Vesti" to repeat an earlier news broadcast instead of the one scheduled to be aired at 5 p.m., according to Interfax.

Police and residents in Moscow are edgy about bomb threats following two trolleybus explosions in the Russian capital that wounded 33 people two weeks ago.
