Lazorenko to U.S.

KIEV () -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Pavlo Lazorenko leaves Wednesday for a two-day official visit to the United States, which will include talks with the leadership of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

Foreign Minister Hennady Udovenko, who will be accompanying the premier, said Lazorenko will give a personal pledge "to actively pursue the program of economic changes.''

Lazorenko also will discuss with the IMF the release of the next tranche of its stand-by loan. The IMF's board of directors is scheduled to discuss Ukraine's fulfillment of loan terms July 31.
