To Do: Get Caught

NEW YORK () -- Two men wrote themselves a list of things to do after breaking out of a Vermont jail, including "go to New York," then left their itinerary in a stolen car where police found it.

James Lertola, 20, and Brian Witham, 25, were arrested in New York on Tuesday following eight days of freedom. Six days after their escape, the men were in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, seated in a stolen car when a police officer approached.

They ran, leaving the list. It read, "Drive to Maine, get safer place to stay, buy guns, get Marie, get car -- Dartmouth, do robbery, go to New York."
