AMSTERDAM () -- Dutch national soccer coach Guus Hiddink has extended his contract by two years and will manage the side until after the 1998 World Cup in France, the Dutch ANP news agency said Monday.

Hiddink took the job in January 1995 when his predecessor Dick Advocaat moved to PSV Eindhoven.

His contract was due to expire after the European championship starting in England this weekend. The Dutch are 5-1 second favorites to win the title they last won in 1988.
