No Certain Bomba

TURIN, Italy () -- Gustavo Thoeni and Giorgio D'Urbano, the longtime personal coach and trainer of superstar Alberto Tomba, received new and higher posts with the Italian Alpine ski team thus dissolving the staff which helped La Bomba (The Bomb) to win Olympic and World titles.

Tomba, Italy's most successful skier, will have a new personal coach, Flavio Roda, a new trainer and a skiman. However, the 28-year-old skier of Bologna said he has not yet decided if he is to compete next season.

"I will decide in September whether to start in the next World Cup and in the [1997] world championships. At the moment I have no clear ideas about my future," said Tomba, a three-time Olympic champion who won two world titles at Sierra Nevada last February.
