Iran-Turkmen Pipeline

NICOSIA, Cyprus () -- Iran has started work on a pipeline to ship natural gas from Turkmenistan to northern Iran, the Middle East Economic Survey reported Monday.

The pipeline, which will cost an estimated $200 million, will be used to ship gas from the Korpedzhe gas field in Turkmenistan to domestic users in northern Iran, said the newsletter, published in Cyprus.

The state-owned National Iranian Oil Co. is financing 80 percent of the project.
