Wembley Spit Taped

LONDON () -- Wembley officials are to study video camera pictures in an attempt to identify the hooligans who tried to sabotage the presentation ceremony for Manchester United's F.A. Cup.

As United's French captain Eric Cantona walked up the steps to collect the Cup from the Duchess of Kent after his team's 1-0 victory Saturday, he was spat at by one Liverpool fan.

The Manchester club's manager, Alex Ferguson, avoided a punch thrown by another Liverpool supporter. Wembley spokesman Martin Corrie said: "We had cameras trained on that area and know who should have been in which seats."

Cantona, who turned to stare at his assailant before continuing his walk to the Royal Box to collect the Cup, said: "It was not a problem as far as I am concerned. I know there is rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United, that there can be trouble, but it didn't matter to me."
