St. Pete Vote Postponed

ST. PETERSBURG -- The final round of St. Petersburg's mayoral vote was postponed until June 2 so election officials have time to prepare, officials said Tuesday.

The second round had been expected Sunday, but election commission chairman Alexander Garusov said it was moved back for technical reasons.

Mayor Anatoly Sobchak will face his deputy, Vladimir Yakovlev. Sobchak won about 30 percent in the first round, and Yakovlev 23 percent.
