TORONTO, Canada () -- The National Basketball Association is investigating charges by University of Utah coach Rick Majerus that the Toronto Raptors violated league bylaws by trying to entice Keith Van Horn to leave school early.

Van Horn, a 6-foot-9 junior forward, did not declare himself eligible for the draft. But Majerus said Sunday that Raptors broadcaster Leo Rautins approached former Canadian star David Turcotte, a lawyer based in Salt Lake City, about talking to Van Horn before the May 19 draft lottery.

"We're looking into it," NBA operations chief Rod Thorn said Tuesday.

Raptors vice president Isiah Thomas denied any wrongdoing.

"I can't really say too much, other than that it's absurd and I'm confident nothing's going to come of it," Thomas said.
