Favre In Drug Rehab

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin () -- All-Pro quarterback Brett Favre, who last season guided the Green Bay Packers to their first conference title game in nearly three decades, is undergoing treatment for substance abuse, the National Football League team said.

"My main objective is to get better for myself and for my family," said the 26-year-old Favre, who explained he may have become dependent upon pain medication to treat injuries over the past few seasons.

Packer coach Mike Holmgren said Tuesday that Favre voluntarily entered the league's confidential drug program in February and had also met with team doctors.
